The Kohala Resilience Hub emerged from our community’s response to the pandemic, and its mission is to sustain a thriving North Kohala by supporting our community’s ability to meet its basic needs, promote health and wellness, and ensure emergency preparedness. Many residents in North Kohala face vulnerability due to the region’s rural, geographically isolated nature, vast income inequality, and limited access to resources and economic opportunities. The Resilience Hub addresses these challenges by employing a cooperative approach that focuses on building residents’ knowledge, skills, abilities, and confidence. At the core of our success are various local organizations dedicated to meeting the needs of our residents. KRH serves as a vital link, bringing community partners together to collaborate and coordinate their efforts.

The Kohala Resilience Hub is connected to an island-wide network of Resilience Hubs through its partnership with Vibrant Hawaii
