NA KAO O KOHALA VOLLEYBALL CLUB was founded in November 2024 by Dwayne “Braddah” Keyes, Denni Keyes, and Kristen Keali’i Carvalho after returning to coach at Kohala High School and recognizing a critical gap in early player development within the community. They observed that many athletes, while naturally athletic and eager, lacked access to foundational training due to the absence of a youth feeder program in North Kohala, placing them at a disadvantage against more experienced teams. In response, the club was created to provide keiki and ‘opio with structured skill development, improved volleyball IQ, and meaningful competitive opportunities, while also fostering confidence, leadership, and life skills. Through this mission, the program aims to strengthen the future of Kohala volleyball and empower athletes to grow, compete, and represent their community with pride.
