The Kohala Alpaca Wranglers (KAW) program was established in 2021 by  Christine Hustace to equip Kohala’s youth with both personal and technical skills through hands-on alpaca husbandry. Over the past four years, KAW has served over 40 families (typically 10 students), maintained a continuous waitlist, and operated entirely free of charge. The program provides consistent, structured learning in an agricultural setting, blending science education, life skills, and community engagement.
